How this is worked out. Annual rewards = your monthly spend × 12 at each card's earn rate, with bonus categories capped at $4,000 a year (typical for a $1,000-per-quarter cap) and the rest earning the base rate. We then add any welcome offer and subtract the annual fee. Discover's Cashback Match is modelled as doubling your first-year rewards.
Rewards are only worth chasing once the card is paid off in full each month. At a 29% APR, carrying a balance costs far more than any cash back on this page earns — if you'll carry a balance, sort by APR instead.
